If you have a kid that is harming themselves well that’s not good in fact it is dangerous. But to get to the cause of that behavior I might ask you are you actually communicating with your kid?
If you lack these communication skills with your own child then there may be signs you aren’t seeing that would allow you to see what is going on. Talk to your kid and get an idea what is happening. It might be an attention seeking or coping mechanism.
