Faith Based Trauma

Many parents try to impart to their family and children what they see as the way to learn about God and Jesus. When this influence over other people gets too intrusive or heavy handed you just start shutting people off.
If it gets to the point of “my way or the highway” mentality then it can border on being traumatizing. If you were raised in a certain mentality that imposes their beliefs on children, relatives and other people and any questioning of anything then it can become really damaging to the other person.
You may believe that your way of belief is the only way then you need to go back and study your Bible a little more closely. Jesus was forgiving, and compassionate. Kind to sinners not condemning. Critical of people who believed that their way of belief and religion was the only way.
