First off avoid fighting with family as much as possible. At this holiday time relatives may be coming in to visit and if you have to be together, hopefully this will be a time of reunion and reconnection.
But we all know there will be times of conflict. If there is a disagreement or argument hopefully it will be civil and no one will be trying to purposely hurt someone else’s feelings or purposely trying to offend others.
If this does happen stop and take a breath and ask yourselves why did this happen? If you take feelings out of the situation what do you have left? Maybe nothing worth arguing about. Try to isolate what exactly happened and hopefully resolve this peacefully.
Sometimes it’s also better to walk away from the situation and think about what just happened. Is this really worth fighting and arguing about? Most times probably not and certainly not worth family division and holding grudges.
If your family has problems with this then possibly an individual or maybe even a family counseling session might be in order. Your loved ones are worth finding peace and resolution with.
