I Validate

If you are or have attended therapy and you have been told that you are delusional and you need to make changes in you life are you doing that?
Did you disagree withe the clinician or counselor about what you have been told about yourself and you just cannot accept it? Why is that?
Sometimes going to therapy can be uncomfortable as to what you have been told and even more uncomfortable trying to change. Counselors and most all therapists have taken an oath and if they are doing something unethical it could wind up being very bad for them. They could lose licensing and more. There is no reason for them to do that.
But there is every reason for them to point out what they perceive with their training are your issues with suggestions as to how you can deal with this. They validate what your diagnosis is and give you steps to carry out changes that will lead you to better outcomes for your life.
If you choose to ignore those suggestions and steps to a better life it is a choice. Your choice for better or worse.
