Coparenting

When 2 parents who started a married life together and have children and then decide to no longer be married this brings in the subject of Coparenting.
No matter who was right or wrong or who hurt who after marriage and you have minor children involved coparenting is many times a not so easy subject to talk about. This is the time for 2 parents who brought this child into the world and now need to think about what’s best for raising this child separately.
Many things need to be worked out. The details of what happens when that child stays with one or the other parent. What are the ground rules that both parents need to consider when deciding what is best for the child. You need to be in agreement. The child doesn’t need to be confused anymore than they already are.
You will also have to coexist with their mother or father at certain occasions. School programs, sporting events for the child, graduations, church, funerals. The list can become very long. Both of you need to be there for your kids, not fighting or causing strife. This is really important for your children and also yourselves. If you face issues with this consult with a counselor.
