When a person who has been seeking treatment for various psychological issues sometimes they are prescribed medications to treat the particular condition.
In many cases the medications prescribed are meant to be taken for 12 to 15 months. This is to get the desired effect and treatment for that patient. The length of time of the medication treatment will last can vary according to the patient and what for that prescriber calls for.
Stopping the medication without consulting the prescriber is never a good idea and can be very bad to dangerous in some cases. Never stop a prescribed medication without consulting the prescriber.
Your brain gets for lack of a better example rewired and new pathways are created. If you start having less problems with anxiety and depression then it is probably working. Side effects should always be reported to your provider.
There is not a life changing medication. But there are medications to treat anxiety and depression. Under the supervision of your provider your depression and anxiety can be made better which makes life better.
