Your relationship with your spouse can be great or it could be a work in progress. You married this person for a reason. Not to be a mirror of you but to share their differences with yours.
Trust has to be built from day one. It’s a constant learning process. Are you two people who are married and living in the same space but leading two different lives? Marriage should be a union of two people building their lives together every day. Not two separate lives that rarely intersect.
Today’s media world teaches us to not trust your spouse. Having relationships outside of marriage is not trust but deception. It is destructive to a marriage to have a spouse who is having a relationship with someone who is not their spouse. It creates distrust and could lead to separation or worse divorce. Many marriages could be salvaged if both people would commit to building their marriage and cease their outside relationships. An evaluation with a counselor could definitely help this situation.
